Pausing in Williams Arizona

Hi Everyone,

Sorry we haven't posted anything new for awhile. We have been traveling a little, and doing a lot of sightseeing. While in St. George we watched our friends play in the Ladies Senior Softball Events for 2 days, and the rest of the time we visited Zion National Park on 2 different days. Our first day at Zion we spent with our friends Derek and Cindy, from Portland. We hiked around the park, and drove through a tunnel that was built in the 30's. This tunnel is bored through rock, a mile and a half long. Pretty amazing, even today.

On our way out from one canyon we hiked, we ran into a very slow moving hiker.  We all gave it the right of way, and kept ours eyes open for any more of them.  Didn't see anymore.......Goody Goody

Our next trip to Zion, after the softball tournament was over, was dedicated to hiking up to Angels Landing.  This is a 5 hour, round trip hike, which is uphill all the way there.  There are points where chains have been installed, to hang onto, so you don't fall down into the canyon.  A bit scary at times, but CRAZY FUN.  (Some might consider it insanity)

There have only been 4 fatalities since 2004 from falls.

People in the horizontal crack, right in the middle of the picture. That was a forth of the way up.

To Much Fun.....................NOT

Scary Part

And Finally.....................The Top

We stopped right here, deciding not to go the extra quarter mile, to the very top.
YA, we know, a couple of "WIMPS"

Zion was a GREAT time.  Another cool place you should see.

Time to move on, so we headed for the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.  We parked our wheelhouse out in the forest and drove into Grand Canyon National Park.  We drove as far as the road would let us, and hiked around looking at different views of the Canyon.  Insane cracks in the earth.  Very Beautiful.

After the Grand Canyon, we made a stop in Sedona.  What a beautiful town, nestled in the canyons south of Flagstaff.  Pretty much a tourist area, with lots of art galleries, and T-Shirts everwhere.  I think we actually made it out of town without a t-shirt........WOOHOO

And they call this art......................   Hummmmmm

We are currently in Williams Arizona, on Route 66.

Williams is an Old West Town, that still today retains some of that Old West Feeling

We will be here for a week or more.  The South Entrance to the Grand Canyon is here, as well as other atractions we have on our list of to do's.  Cindy and Derek told us about a place called "Bearizona", where your car is your cage, and you drive through areas with wildlife.  It appears as it resembles Wildlife Safari in Oregon, so we will give you our report.

Not sure where we will go from here, but it will be South.  The days are sunny and warm here, but the evenings get very cold.  We have managed to stay a couple of steps in front of the coming Winter, so a bit further South should help.

Check back in a few days and maybe we will have some new pics.

Thanks for taking the time to follow us on our blog.

Roberta & Steve
