Kicking Back In Sunny Southern California

Hi Everyone,

Sorry that we haven't updated the Blog recently, but not much has been going on.  We spent a few weeks in Prescott Arizona, which was really nice, just relaxing, but the evenings were down right COLD.  We decided to move a bit more South, where the days are Tank Tops,Flip Flops and Shorts and the evenings are Sweatshirts, Flip Flops and Shorts.  We know, just what you wanted to hear......

We are about 65 miles East of Palm Springs, right on the boarder of Arizona and California.  We found a place where we backed our wheelhouse up to the Colorado River, So every time we look out the back window, all we see is:

Today is Thanksgiving and we are relaxing by the river, waiting for the timer to go off, letting us know that the Turkey is done.  We watched the Detroit Lions/Houston Texans Football game, and then we will catch the New England Patriots/New York Jets game this evening.  We don't seem  to get FOX where we are, so we are missing the Washington Redskin kicking the Dallas Cowboys Ass.  Oh Well, not much missed there, even though we have Dallas to win in our football pool.

We will be heading into Palm Springs tomorrow, to spend the day we Roberta's sister, Donna.  We don't really have any great exciting plans while staying here, since we were here last years for a few weeks.  We just plan to do some serious kicked back relaxing , riding our bikes, basking in the sun and watching the river flow by.  It's a rough life, but someone has to do it.

We will be flying home from Palm Springs the middle of December for 3 weeks, and after we return to Palm Springs, we will be pointing the Truck and Wheelhouse East to Texas, and then hopefully catching Mardi Gras New Orleans.

So, as the sunsets over the Colorado River, we bid you a farewell, and a Happy Thanksgiving.

Until Next Time,

Roberta and Steve

Still Relaxing in Prescott Arizona

Well, here we are, still relaxing in Prescott Arizona.  The weather is almost perfect, with the afternoon temps getting up to around 75-80 and dropping to around 40 in the evening.  Just right for sleeping.

We took a road trip up to Jerome, an old mining town up in the hills.  Rumor has it that it is haunted, and many people have told us stories about strange ghostly sightings.  We didn't see any ghosts, but we are sure glad we didn't have the wheelhouse with us.  The road through the town was really narrow and windy.

The road on the left is the main highway through town, and the road on the right goes up to the old hospital that has been converted to a hotel.

The Hospital that has been converted into a hotel.  There have been many ghost sightings there.

We plan to return to Jerome this week to checkout a few of the mines, and to pursue the sighting of a ghosts.

Last Friday evening we went to downtown Prescott, to check out Whiskey Row.  A lot of history here around the Old West.  Somehow Steve totally forgot all about moderation, and doesn't remember much of the evening.  He had a lot of FUN, dancing and visiting with locals, but it took a couple of days to recover fully.

Below is just one of the salons we visited.  The bar was huge, and there was a group of gunslingers hanging around have a few cold ones.  Yes, they were all packing weapons, some pistols and a couple of swords.  And it wasn't even Halloween.

We plan to return to the downtown area sometime this week to check it out more closely.  Moderation will be paramount for Steve.

Now that the elections are over, and we can finally use our brain for more important things, here is something to ponder.

Till Next Time....................................................... Thanks for checking in on us.
